New Enodis proposals for completion of Oakwood Park

Enodis are launching a revised master plan for public consultation on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd November.

There will be a public exhibition at the southern entrance to Oakwood Park 2pm to 8pm on the Friday and 10am to 4pm on the Saturday. Enodis Flyer

Some potential questions and concerns, identified through emails the Parish Council have received from Enodis, relate to:

- A statement that housing would only be built on brownfield area and that the shop and surgery would move to near village hall. So does this mean that the shop, surgery and houses will be built where we expected the playing fields to be, and the playing fields move to green belt in Felsted?

- No longer any reference to the provision of a public house.

- Only a shop, not shops are mentioned.

- Are Enodis proposing to upgrade sewage works so that they can build houses within cordon sanitaire?

- Due to the current housing market situation, will plans be predominately for housing association/social housing which will be paid for by central government? If so, this will have an effect on the structure of the community and disaffect residents who have purchased houses and impact on their value.

Government proposals threaten the John Tasker House surgery’s ability to dispense medicines

Please see attached letter that the doctors’ surgery in Great Dunmow have issued.

For those of us living outside of Great Dunmow, the ability to have our prescriptions dispensed from the doctors’ surgery is obviously something that we do not want to loose.

If you would like to respond to this proposal please follow directions on the attached link: Letter from John Tasker House

Speed indicator devices have been installed on Station Road near Pound Hill and at the entrance to Felsted from Little Dunmow. The Highways Department has tested for effectiveness. The devices have to be mounted on existing street furniture, hence the current position. Repeater signs are still to be installed, along with speed roundels. Although perhaps not ideally situated at present, it may be possible to move them once additional posts are erected for the repeater signs.

Moving the speed limit remains an ongoing item as Essex County Council Speed Policy is up for review and will go out for consultation this year.
